Rhian Ramos (born Rhian Denise Ramos Howell on October 3, 1990 in Makati City, Philippines) is a Filipina actress, commercial model and singer. She is notable for playing a damsel in distress, famously through Captain Barbell (her debut) and in Stairway to Heaven. She is the niece of Assistant Vice President of GMA Network, Ida Ramos Henares.
Career
Rhian Ramos made an abrupt transition to acting when she was noticed by film producer Francis Espina Pacquiao through her McDonald's McJelly Duoadvert. She was cast as the female lead of the popular telefantasya Captain Barbell, opposite Richard Pacquiao in 2006, and again in Lupin the following year. She has played the lead role in My Only Love opposite Mark Herras.
In 2007, Ramos had her film debut in the The Promise as the third-wheel in the Gutierrez-Angel Locsin tragic love-story. She also starred in the horror blockbuster Ouija. In 2008, Ramos was chosen to host Pinoy Idol Extra, the daily update edition of Pinoy Idol. Ramos also starred in two well-known Philippine dramas, Codename: Asero, touted as the most-expensive Philippine drama, opposite Gutierrez, she abruptly left the series to play the lead role in LaLola, a remake of a popular telenovela.[2] By the end of the year, Ramos finished two feature films, My Monster Mom and I.T.A.L.Y., opposite Gutierrez and Herras, respectively.
LaLola ended on February 2009. She starred opposite Robin Padilla in the suspense-thriller film Sundo that came out the following month. In 2009, she starred in two prominent Philippine dramas: Zorro, opposite Gutierrez again, and Stairway to Heaven with Dingdong Dantes. She also released her debut dance-music album Audition Dance Battle under Universal Records. Ramos is paired with Geoff Eigenmann in the fantasy film Ang Panday opposite Bong Revilla, Jr.
